As well as providing all the standard structural engineering services we also work closely with leading timber frame designers and specialist steel fabricators across the UK to deliver expert consultancy and design to high specifications for this specialist work. We have worked in these areas for over 20 years and therefore have gained extensive knowledge and experience.
With over 35 years experience, John has been a director of Alcock Lees Partnership Limited since 2007 and spent the previous 17 years as Partner.
Prior to this John spent time with practices in London and Norwich giving him sound knowledge and experience on all aspects of civil and structural engineering projects.
John regularly handles design work on a range of developments including global multi-million pound schemes in all construction materials. With vast experience and management skills John has been involved with areas of structural design on high profile projects including the Olympic Village, Battersea Power Station and the Millennium Dome.
As well as working on standard structural projects, John also works with specialist steel fabricators based across the UK on architecturally challenging and complicated steel structures. This work also involves elaborate staircases, sculptures, offshore design and temporary exhibition structures.
He is a highly regarded industry commentator and with extensive knowledge and expertise has been called upon to provide expert consultancy for industry bodies.
As a keen computer programmer John has also written all the structural design software that is used by the design team in-house.
After joining the company as an apprentice aged 16, Tim has progressed into the role of senior engineer.
He is responsible for the co-ordination, management and completion of his own projects ranging from small, private extensions to multi-million pound developments. These include commercial, residential and public sector projects requiring detailed design in all common building materials.
His daily responsibilities include liaising with architects, contractors, clients and other engineers to manage expectations and ensure each brief is met/delivered within budget and to deadline.
He takes responsibility for junior staff and provides support and guidance to members of the design team.
Tim also leads the office specialist timber frame design area of the business and works with timber frame designers all over the UK.
Lewis joined as an Apprentice Draughtsman at the age of 18. He has progressed his way through the company whilst attending college and achieving his degree. He does design across all fields. Lewis has achieved his Masters Degree.
Oliver joined Alcock Lees in 2014 as a graduate after working for a year as a site setting out engineer.
He works on most aspects of design; primarily timber frame.
Oli runs his own projects and liaises with clients and architects on a daily basis.
Gayle joined in January 2013 as Office Co-ordinator. She previously spent many years in the travel industry seeing the world. Gayle is responsible for all aspects of running the back office systems.
Ryan joined us as an Apprentice in August 2015 and has worked his way to Senior Draughtsman looking to move into Engineering. He has completed his ONC Level 3 Diploma and Level 5 HND in Civil Engineering and has achieved his BSc (Hons) at the University of Suffolk.
Mark joins us as Drawing Office Manager. He has a background in Architectural Metalwork, structural steel, HVAC and automotive robotics.
Bethany joined us in January 2017 and works in the drawing department. Beth has a BTEC Level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment. Beth has completed her Level 5 HND.
George joined us in September 2021 as our latest Apprentice in the Drawing Office. He is studying BTEC Civil Engineering Level 3
